Dead Men Tell No Tales by E W Hornung

Finished On:30th  December 2013

Dead Men Tell No Tales is  a 1899 adventure and  mystery novel by Ernest William Hornung,
First  sentence of the book:

Nothing is so easy as falling in love on a long sea voyage, except falling out of love.

Cole is the protagonist of the story. On the ship Lady Jermyn, Cole meets Eva Denison, a young and beautiful woman. He's attracted to her but refrains from telling her about his feelings.

'And i may add that i for my part had not the faintest intention of falling in love on board; nay;after all these years, let me confess that i had good cause to hold myself proof against such weakness. '

Apart from his attraction to Eva, his interest is piqued by a rumour circulating in the ship that the ship was carrying a secret cargo.
But then fire breaks out at the ship and he had to abandon the company of Eva. He realizes his feelings for her.
Whether he'll see her again?
Was there any secret cargo in the ship?
What'll happen to the ship and its crew and how life of Mr Cole unfolds?
These are the question that would be answered when you'll read the book.

What did i thought about the book? I liked the book. It was an okay read. It's not one of those books which you can't put down before finishing. There were some boring parts in the book but the ending of the story makes up for it. The book has some good parts and that make the book worth reading. I'll surely be giving other works by this author a try. If you have and can recommend some title please feel free to write them in the comment section.
